Shoots & Roots Bitters—Plant Illustrations

Shoots & Roots Bitters and I worked together on developing these bright, botanical labels for their tea packages. It keeps the plant illustrations and colour scheme at the forefront and allows for some quiet space in the triangle so the name and logo can pop.

This piece was designed to encapsulate the biodiversity and botany that goes into the creation of Shoots & Roots Bitters. My goal was to sum up this company to consumers so they could get an understanding of their products and the women that create them. I used vibrant, modern imagery and text in order to position Shoots & Roots differently from their competition as most bitter companies go for an antique (1800s-esque) look.

This infographic was designed to show the different foods people need to eat to get all their vitamins from whole food sources. It also shows how the body uses different vitamins throughout the body. Any excuse to create anatomical and plant drawing.

There are currently 686 species of endangered animals in Canada. How many can you name? This deck of cards will introduce you to a handful of them, and will come as a revelation to those who think that only gorillas and rhinoceroses are at risk of disappearing from Earth.

I created this project because I am interested in the environment, scientific systems (zoology, cartography, botany, etc) and education.
